20/10--Eyesight and Insight

We've named our short term mission trip 20/10 not only because we'll be traveling in 2010, but because we want to have 20/10 vision for our trip.

Eye doctors measure vision by determining how far we must stand from something to see it clearly.  20/20 vision is considered perfect eyesight, meaning a person can see a size 20 letter from 20 feet away.  However, 20/10, instead of meaning we can see a size 20 letter from 10 feet away, means we can see letters clearly at 20 feet that a person with 20/20 vision can only see clearly from 10 feet away.

That's why we're asking God for 20/10 vision for our trip.  We want  vision better than our best human vision.  We want God's eyesight and insight so we can see what God sees and do what God wants us to do.  We don't want to depend on ourselves; we want to depend on God!

A key element in gaining God's vision is prayer.  We will be praying as a group and encouraging our team members to pray individually as well a enlisting the prayer support of others.
